International cooperation

In accordance with the programs of international cooperation in the Exclusion Zone (EZ), international projects are being implemented. Many international organizations (EC, IAEA, OSCE, NATO, etc.) use the EZ as a training ground for training and education of specialists in civil protection, radiation safety, dosimetry, radiobiology. In addition, the company cooperates with the world’s leading research institutions: the Universities of Hiroshima and Fukushima (Japan), South Carolina (USA), Portsmouth (UK), IRSN (France) and others, participates in international tests of radiometric laboratories ALMERA, the latest rose to 51st place in the ranking of 200 eurozone participants. The results of international technical assistance projects include: 

  • modernization and creation of automated radiation control systems, including a comprehensive system of radiation monitoring and early warning (PSA); 
  • obtaining and commissioning of modern equipment, which made it possible to determine the TUE at the current level and determine the full range of gamma-emitting radionuclides in the environmental monitoring facilities of the EZ; 
  • mastering the IAEA methodology of comprehensive safety assessment of near-surface radwaste storage facilities and radwaste management facilities.
