Instructionon compliance with safery rules for visitors of the exclusion zone

When visiting the exclusion zone all visitors shall be obliged to:

  • Use clothes & shoes, maximally protect body, head, hands and feet;
  • Comply with the requirements of warning and prohibition signson radiation safety;
  • Strictly comply with the recommendations of the accompanying person;
  • Move around only according to the prescribed routes;
  • Follow the personal hygienic rules;
  • Strictly comply with fire prevention measures.

During the visit to the exclusion zoneit is totally prohibited to:

  • Enter any abandoned residential or any other buildings in the exclusion zone;
  • Bring with you any weapons, flammable and combustible substances;
  • Drink water from wells, rivers or other open land sources;
  • Have a meal outdoors, except specially designated areas;
  • Drink alcohol or take drugs;
  • Touch buildings or plants;
  • Sit down or put personal belongings, photo and video equipment on the ground;
  • Take any items outside the exclusion zone;
  • Violate dress code (open-type shoes, shorts, trousers, skirts);
  • Stay on the territory of the exclusion zone without an accompanying person;
  • Take photos and videos of checkpoints, physical protection systems of the ChNPP;
  • Use open sources of fire;
  • Have smokein the open air.

It is allowed to use water only from the water supply network of Chernobyl or imported water or water sold in the trade network (in the package of the manufacturer).

Leaving the exclusion zone, it is necessary to:

  • Pass compulsory radiation control of clothes, footwear, personal items, vehicles;
  • If contamination exceeds the established reference levels, personal clothes, footwear, and personal items are subject to decontamination.

 

In case of emergencies, notify the accompanying person, and in case of absence of an accompanying person, call the following numbers (all types of telephone communication):

  • In case of administrative offence – “102”,+38 (04593) 5-13-41(Chernobyl Police Department);
  • In case of injury or deterioration of health – “103”; +38 (04593) 4-31-03, +38 (04593) 4-24-03 (ChNPP Medical Service); +38 (04593) 5-13-37 (Chernobyl ambulance).
